Is this another option now that we have two more QB's on the roster?

Was watching the NFL show on ESPN last night, and they didn't mention this, but it occurred to me.

This might be very unlikely, but doesn't signing Wilson and Winston give the Giants one more option, which would be to offer the Titans a trade up which would include one of them (likely Wilson)?

For example, if the Titans are not "wild" about Ward, but the Giants really want him, then such a deal would ensure the Titans a proven starting QB -plus- their choice of whomever they think is the 2nd-best player in this draft (assuming the Browns select the best player in this draft with Pick Two) -plus- whatever other picks the Giants throw in?

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Bob,

Considering the Giants signed Wilson hours after Cam Ward's Pro Day (where Schoen likely met with the Titans), it seems more likely the Giants signed Wilson because of the feedback they got from the Titans (that they were planning on taking Ward, which makes all the sense in the world).   If the Titans wanted Wilson, they could have signed him, and not needed to waste draft capital letting the Giants sign him and then trading for him

Rich: YOURS is the far more likely scenario, but recall that Giants did something out-of-character to get Eli.

So, to me, it doesn't rule out the possibility that they discussed a trade up with the Titans and inferred during (and from) that discussion which available free-agent QB the Titans might be interested in having.

The Giants would never tip their hand to the Titans by hinting to them that they planned to offer to trade up, IMO, but instead, they would have used the discussion at Ward's pro day as a form of clandestine "reconnaissance" if you see what I mean.

Bob,

If I were the Giants and felt that there would be a Ward deal in place, I think I would have spent the money they spent on Wilson bolstering the offensive line (since they would have fewer draft picks).

To me, all the moves made by the Giants point to the likelihood of the Titans trade not happening.

Plus, from the Titan's side, they didn't boost their QB room.  They did boost their O-line.   They are picking first overall (with no assurance of doing so in the future).  How could you pass on a solid QB prospect like Ward?  It would almost be GM malpractice.

I think the other option is that with Wilson and Winston in place for next 1-2 years, the Giants completely reboot the offense and draft offense at 3 like Hunter, an OT or say Warren then go back to find another WR who if they dont get Hunter and draft another OL like a guard in round 3.

Phil: Yes, but this one has been discussed. I was just wondering about the "long shot" of trading a QB to the Titans to make it easier for the Giants to get the Titans to agree to trade the number-one pick. Bob

Unlikely indeed, Roberto! Probably the least likely of the various permutations we might conjure.

Cheers!

I think they are committed to a youthful rookie QB.

Hey, Bob. Thanks for asking.

Except that Jerrah, already the richest, keeps getting richer by the minute, Cows fans are facing the reality that you can win all you want in the regular season and not accomplish a thing in the playoffs for almost 30 years. It may have taken them awhile, but they have now surpassed us Maranaters as whine tasters; at least true of those born after 1996.

Yes, I am still painting but not for public exhibit and sale as once was so. Although I only exhibited in galleries, I am quite aware that you can sell almost anything online even if it doesn't have Trump's name on it which in his case proves that a con man doesn't have to be smart if his victims are dumb enough.

As you may know, chemical engineering not painting was my vocation. The name, Painter originated with the eldest of my 15 Grand- and Greatgrandchildren for which in such case, I would have to now identify as semi-retired as compared to the "fully rest of me".

Cheers!
