Apparently the parent company that owns the show demanded Bobby move to NJ or become a contract worker rather than an employee, so he left.

Justin said Talkin Giants would continue, and that Bobby would start his own show at some point.

Here is his new show

I hope to hell this isn't an elaborate April Fool's prank.   I didn't realize the day when I posted this.

In my defense, I saw a post yesterday on BBI suggesting he might be leaving.

Plus, I remember Bobby talking about the company wanting him to move to the area.

Plus, Justin's show was really too long and detailed to just be a prank (if so, I have never seen two people put more effort into a prank that offered so little playoff.)

He should drop the "Show" and leave it as "GIANTS NATION with Bobby Skinner"

Tim,

I like your idea.  Bobby hasn't gotten the podcast to Apple Podcast yet.  When I searched, I found a show called "Giants Nation".  I think he needs to add "show" to set it apart.  I am not sure if it works with your suggestion (I am not suggesting it doesn't, I am saying I literally don't know)

They want all of their shows and Podcasts to collaborate which makes sense, and if you can't do that or unwilling to then there isn't much wiggle room.

Jess,

I don't think there is a villain in this event.  As you said, companies can make their own decisions for good or bad.  That said, I thought Bobby and Justin were a great pairing.   Justin's stats and analytics were a good match with Bobby's on-the-field scouting and Xs and Os ability.

I will say that Bobby brings a level of knowledge and understanding of the game that's rare (especially being able to explain it in ways people can understand).  If I were Johnboy, I would have let Bobby stay in Florida, but I don't own that company, and what I think doesn't matter.

I liked the pair, and I hope both of them do well in their separate ventures.

I suspected this was in the works when he set up the new channel and hinted that this may be the future for his player and game evaluations. I wish them both well. I'm sure they will be.

I don't know how they can take his channel when he has sole ownership of it. That's the weird part, that he has ownership of the name, the socials, and yet they keep it?

From what I could gather, Bobby created Talkin Giants.  I suspect at some point, he sold or turned over ownership,in exchange for salary, to Johnboy Media.

I just saw his farewell to Jomboy pod. He went off on them like he did Fire Joe Schoen style. Pulling no punches. There's a lot going on there. Just wondering where it would lead by following the money sponsoring Jomboy Media, and if the Giants Organization is directly or indirectly connected in some way. With what they offered Bobby, what they took away or kept, it was clear that they made him an offer they knew he would refuse. Which on its own was clearly not in their best interests either. Sounds like a big dawg is pulling the strings.

I feel for the man. He's got to basically start all over, but his brand is his name. They can't take that away. I wasn't aware they had a Patreon Channel.

Bobby talked to me about the offer to have him move up here last summer.

Here is an example of the Warehouse Games they wanted Bobby to participate in

https://x.com/JMWarehouse_/status/1902447187172143219

Talkin Giants often sponsored tailgate parties at the stadium.  I am sure Jomboy wanted Bobby to be the star attraction at those events.

I wouldn't put it past the Giants to try and push Bobby out by pressuring Jomboy.  Although, as Bobby said, they seemed more focused on baseball than football or the Giants (check out Jomboy's YouTube page).

The one thing that bothered me was Bobby's anger toward Justin. I get it, he meant the whole "Talkin Giants against the world" slogan and figured Justin would join him.   The thing is, striking out on your own isn't for everyone.  Some people like the security of working for others.

I think the key to Bobby's success will be finding the right cohost   Bobby and Justin were a really good match, in my opinion.  I got the sense they had mutual respect and friendship, as well as a good on-air report.  That's not easy to find.

Going out without a net requires enough funds to get through the first year. Not just to support the business, but to support your family. Getting single coverage for medical benefits can be about $1500 a month and double or triple that for family. What Justin would like to have done and what is best for his family may not align.
