SPOILER ALERT for 1923

I did some looking online about what we were talking about, the ending. Seems the premmie, John, will be John Dutton (Kevin Costner )'s father, since Costner is John Dutton III. The new series you mentioned is going to be 1944 and will probably feature this premmie John Dutton II.
They also mention the 'other' baby Spenser had with a widow, but no one seems to know anything about this baby, so speculation is that he could challenge John II for control of Yellowstone.
What I did miss was that it was Spencer who lived another 45 years after his wife died, and we see them reunite in heaven, I assume, for that last dance. Since Spencer lived for 45 years, that would make his death in 1968. There is a lot to fill in between this, Spencer's son taking over Yellowstone, and then Costner's John Dutton running it.

One other question, maybe you have a handle on, Specer said that Whitfield was responsible for his wife's death and that's why he killed him. For the life of me, how was Whitfield responsible for Alex's death? The only thing I can think of and it is pretty remote is that since Whitfield was the one that started the war with the Dutton's, and he was asked to return home to fight, if not f or this him and Alex might still be on that island somewhere and venture home at their leisure. Possible?

I have to believe the premie named John Dutton II has to have taken over the Yellowstone because - as you mentioned - Kevin Costner was John Dutton III. Plus, Spencer was never in a direct inheritance line, as far as I know. I know that the "1887" series had James Dutton as the head of the ranch, and "1923" had Jacob Dutton as head, so I have no idea who "John I" was. Maybe they'll clear it later and explain (or I could ask Grok)

Spencer blamed Whitfield on Alex's death, because if it wasn't for his attempt to take away the Yellowstone, he and his wife wouldn't have had to travel back to Montana because it was an emergency. They would have gone on with their lives in Africa, or England, or wherever they wanted to go. They wouldn't have gone on a dangerous journey to get to Montana on a whim...it was only because of the emergency forced by Whitfield

I'm anxious to see how they make the 1944 sequel. I have to think WWII will come into play, or they wouldn't have chosen that particular year...it seems to me anyway

Addendum to previous message. Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) had the one son who was called "Jack Dutton", who ended up murdered, but his wife (Elizabeth, played by Michelle Randolph...who also played the sexy tart, Aynsley in "Landman") was pregnant and carrying his child when she left the Yellowstone to go back to city life. Jack is a very common nickname for John. So if it's John II in the 1944 series, it would make sense that Elizabeth returns with her son to Yellowstone for some unknown reason, and her child becomes the head of the family  :-?? And we know that Sheridan likes Michelle Randolph, so I suspect she will be brought back as well. And who knows, they could recast her role in 1944 as the baby's wife instead of his mother...lol

All legitimate answers. I guess we will just have to debate it until that 'other' series premiers--whenever?

Holy xxxx, I just watched The Last of Us season 2 episode 2 and it was the best episode of television in the past 5 years. Hands down, so freaking good, and so unexpected, but I don't remember if there are any the last of us fans in here? If so please hurry up and watch it so you don't get spoiled on it.

Believe it or not, we got through Severance. I kept telling myself it was an allegory of spiritual proportions.

I saw one episode of The Cleaning Lady. It was just ok, but I think it has potential. Did anyone see it?

Recently finished a couple of short series, again on Acorn TV..

Scrublands - an Australian series about a priest gone bad? Well, he does shoot 5 people in the opening scene. Eventually you find out why, and that things aren't quite what they seemed. Interesting series, not great but entertaining enough to keep me watching.

Truelove - a UK series about an older group of five friends who, while attending a good friend's funeral, make a pact, ("truelove"), to eventually help each other die with dignity when their time comes. The acting is very good, and the performances quite believable. It began as a heartfelt drama, taking on a very serious subject matter, then due to a major plot twist, everything changed. Recommended.

Sooo...if I'm reading the chart correctly, in 1923, young John "JacK" Dutton Jr. who was killed off by Whitfield's henchman, whilst hiding in the bushes, leaving behind his new wife who happened to be pregnant and left the ranch for the safety of city living...are the parents of John III (aka Kevin Costner)

So, somewhere in the upcoming series, 1944...Elizabeth Dutton (Michelle Randolph - the pretty girl in Landman, as well as the young wife in 1923) - who left Yellowstone to go back to the good life in the city, must come back to the ranch, as her son John III has taken over the Yellowstone. I don't see how John III gets there without Elizabeth returning to the Yellowstone ranch...which I say, "Yay, love that girl", lol

Thanks for sharing that Bill...it helps a lot

Recently watched The Four Seasons. It's a comedy-drama miniseries on Netflix that follows three long-time couples through four seasonal vacations, exploring friendship, marriage, and midlife changes with humor and heart.

Really enjoyed it. A lot of it "spoke to me" being 43, well worth a look (regardless of age), episodes are 25 mins or so a piece.

I know I am very late to the party with this series, but I just finished watching Ted Lasso on Apple TV. Yes, I know it has been around quite a while, but we have this trial for Apple, and it was #1 on my list to watch.

My take, very enjoyable show. I really got into the premise right away and Jason Sudekis is such a perfect fit for the role of Ted. Just a terrific cast all around.

I did think that in Season 3, they got a bit too much into dramatic elements, losing some of the charm, but they didn't last all that long, and it ended perfectly. (Did Ted ever get back with his wife?)

Definitely worth the wait.

Huh...I thought when you watched the 5th Fargo series, you had already watched Ted Lasso as you had hinted you'd be watching it soon. To me, it made Fargo that much more interesting after watching Ted Lasso as Juno Temple (played Keely in Lasso as a playful tart) as well as tough as nails chick, Dorothy, aka "Dot" in Fargo. She is obviously a good actress being able to pull off such radically different roles and nail them, including using different accents to fit a role (in Lasso, that was her real accent)

As a refresher

Interestingly (to me anyway), it took her several months to get down the Minnesota accent before playing Fargo. Before that, she starred in the movie "Dirty Girl" and had to learn an American "southern drawl" accent. But she says the hardest accent for her is straight up, the American accent. Here she is on Craig Ferguson Late, Late Show (man do I miss him - he's infinitely better than any of the late night shows on these days, but he picked up and walked away from it. An Irishman who finally attained U.S. citizenship that he called the greatest day of his life and was very emotional about it. Good guy, ridiculously funny host. Anyway, here is with Juno Temple

No, I never got to watch Ted Lasso before. I never had Apple TV before, and this was my chance to watch this series.

Maybe I'll have to rewatch Fargo again. That won't be so bad.
