Anyone have any suggestions for a detective, whodunit, or murder mystery? I have seen most, but I was curious if anyone had one that was a favorite that I may not have seen yet?

I'm guessing you've seen it but if I'm looking at relatively recent years I thought "The Undoing" starring Hugh Grant was pretty good.

"A Simple Favor" was a good mystery with a good twist or two.
I know they just released a sequel, but I haven't seen that yet.

I actually have not, and thought I had seen everything. There are so many streaming shows that I am trying to keep up with them. I found this one show yhat I think was for teenagers originally called Veronica mars, but it's actually really good. It has so many stars before they hit it big, including Taylor Sheridan as an actor.

Also all of you that like yellowstone, you are missing out if you aren't watching Mobland, it's the British yellowstone. Same creators, and A list cast.

I started that, but my mistake was starting it before it had finished its run. Now I have forgotten what I watched, but I did like it, so I will return to it shortly.

Yeah it likes 2 more episodes being done for the season

I have picked up two new shows on Apple TV and am enjoying both (though they are very different):

1. "Your Friends And Neighbors."

Jon Hamm plays a divorced hedge fund guy who has a high income but a huge overhead. He gets fired from his job for a silly reason but then subsequently struggles to get a new job. Facing a major cash crunch, he resorts to burglarizing the homes of his rich neighbors. I'm fully caught up on this one, and I think it's near the end of the season. I have been finding it solidly entertaining. I generally like Hamm, and he is good here.

2. "The Studio"

Sharply funny and satirical look at the Hollywood film industry. Seth Rogan plays a recently promoted studio exec who has aspirations of making intelligent, artistic films but is under pressure from his studio to deliver dumb, trashy movies that make money. Brian Cranston plays the studio head. I've only watched the first episode of this one but I liked it and intend to continue.

Yesterday, I watched a movie that was just released on streaming, ' The Brutalist' starring Adrian Brody.
This movie was up for Best Picture, and Brody won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role. You might think it was pretty good, well, this critic really didn't think so. First of all, it is 3 and 1/2 hours long, and that is 3 and 1/2 hours of my life I won't get back anymore. I'm sure there are plenty of people who loved this movie, and there will be plenty of people who will see it and, again, love it, but I wasn't one of them, sorry.

Broday is a Holocaust survivor, migrated to the USA. He was a big-time architect before the war, and during these 3 1/2 hours is his struggle to become one again. He was very good in the movie, but  I have seen better performances in past years that never won anything. The storyline is interesting, but it moves at a snail's pace and I simply lost interest at several stops along his journey.

Just glad I didn't have to pay to see this.

Thanks for the warning Lenn. I thought it would be interesting because of the holocaust, but I have "Old Man's ADHD", who has a short attention span. I had no idea it was that long. I never saw the end of "Lord of the Rings", because after 2 1/2 hours, and nowhere near the end, I screamed at the TV every few minutes..."COME TO A CONCLUSION", and after about the 5th time I yelled it, I turned it off and have no idea how it ended, nor do I care. My main purpose for watching it in the first place was because my son said it was good, and I should watch it (didn't warn me about length) and I have a thing for Liv Tyler, who I rarely got to see in movies  :angryfire:

It is funny that all the 3 movies in the LOTR trilogy were 3 + hours long, but in each one, I was never bored.d This series from the opening movie and the time just seemed to fly by. I can understand that with longer shows, the need to just move on. Gosh, if you were unhappy with the LOTR, where it was basically top action, don't even try this other movie I just watched.

Have you seen the "Knives Out" movies on Netflix? There are two in the series and I believe a third one is coming soon.

One just popped into my head that I watched earlier this year that was pretty good, "Death and Other Details" on Hulu. Sorta like the game of Clue. 10 episodes, all dropped

Here's the synopsis, without giving anything away: "Set amidst the glamor of the global elite, "Death and Other Details" centers on the brilliant and restless Imogene Scott (Violett Beane), who finds herself in the wrong place/wrong time (okay, it was kinda her fault) and becomes the prime suspect in a locked room murder mystery. The setting? A lavishly restored Mediterranean ocean liner. Suspects? Every pampered guest and every exhausted crew member. The problem? To prove her innocence, she must partner with a man she despises—Rufus Cotesworth (Mandy Patinkin), the world's greatest detective."

I just started watching 'The Last Of Us'. Another in a very long line of  'end of the world' by virus movies, with the usual undead roaming the earth. The thing is, I usually love these shows and movies. After 3 episodes, I am enjoying this one also. From what I have seen, this one isn't really different than many of the others, but it is interesting, and I have heard wonderful things about season 2, so it was time to try it out.
