Quote from: DaveBrown74 on May 31, 2025, 11:33:45 AMI thought the ending was very sloppy. I don't want to spoil anything here though.
I would never go for episode two.

I just started the Better Sister's show and I am an episode and a half in and it looks really good so far.

I also started a Netflix show called Department Q and it's like the british police version of slow horses 1 episode in.

I just got an email today from Netflix mentioning this one. Sounds right up my alley.

I don't know if anyone enjoyed Fubar Season 1 with Arnold Schwarzenegger but I actually really enjoyed it. Season 2 comes out next week and I had no clue, so hopefully this notifies someone else.

I liked it. Quick question: "Is the whole season 2 being dropped, or is it going to be one week at a time?"
You can never actually lose a homing pigeon - if your homing pigeon does not return, what you've lost is a pigeon

All of season 2 on Netflix. Netflix had their big thing were they announced all their stuff for the rest if the year. Stranger things is a 3 part drop, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. They showed a trailer for Thursday murder club, Frankenstein which looks amazing and I don't even like stuff like that. Plus squid game season 3 and several other things that look great.

We finished Department Q over the weekend. Really enjoyed it.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on May 20, 2025, 02:56:39 PMIt's fantastic! My favorite apocalypse show ever. Season finale for Season 2 is next week. Based on a video game it was a worldwide phenomenon and now everyone discusses it weekly like they did with game of thrones. Season 2 episode 2 was one of the best episodes of TV I have seen in a decade. I put it up there with game of thrones Season 6 episode 9 and 10 as the best episodes I've seen.

I just watched this episode, Season 2 Episode 2, and I would fully agree with you, WOW. Every bit as intense as you described. It could compare with any episode of GOT (just GOT did it all the time, that's what made it so great). Any, since I don't want to offer any spoilers here, the fighting part was about as I expected as with GOT, action upon action. The other part which I won't go into was very unexpected.
I also watched episode 3 to see if it followed thru, but alas, it was sort of back to the regular show, not that that isn't a good thing.

What I do see about this show, The Last of Us, compared to The Walking Dead, on TWD, the 'Dead' were always a part of every show. They were always there, no matter where the good guys were, they were just as important a part of each episode as the main characters. Not so on LOU. We don't see much of the infected, even though we know they are around.

Season 2 is only 7 episodes--disappointing.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

I finished the season finale and wow, the last three episodes were absolutely nonstop. Episode 5 nonstop action, episode 6 amazing story Arch, then episode 7 nonstop action, character development, and a cliff hanger that rivals GOT season 5 episode 10 with John's death, or the Negan episode cliffhanger. If you have the time I would highly recommend watching the final 3 episodes all at once if you can.

I also just finished Mobland season 1 with Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and others. It is the London version of Yellowstone without the horses, and is a must watch if you have time.

The Last of Us
Mobland
And Better Sister

Are my top 3 shows of the year so far easily. I am only 3 episodes into "Better Sister" with Elizabeth Banks and Jessica Biel with an amazing supporting cast. It has been phenomenal so far.

I'm definitely interested in the first two. Multiple people however have told me that as good as The Last Of Us season one is, two is absolutely terrible. Shows like that frustrate me if that's in fact true. I have at least two friends who said that and if you look at the reviews on IMDB they all say that. Curious as to your thoughts on this front.

The anger that most people have is that the show follows the game beat by beat. When they game came out and people played it, the incident both Lenn and I are referring to in episode 2 had gamers absolutely furious! They didn't want to play anymore etc, but they went ahead and finished it because they had paid the 60 dollars for the game and when most of them finished it they loved it more than the 1st game. The issue the show is running into is the fact that they had to break game 2 up into multiple seasons unlike the 1st game which was complete in season 1. The 2nd season covers the parts of game 2 that fans initially revolted on, but because we have to wait on season 3 or the part of game 2 that tied everything together fans are upset. For people like me though that avoided spoilers and didn't  play the game, it was enjoyable. I can see why some are upset, but when you see the way season 2 ends, you'll see the need for waiting to pass judgment until after season 3. Regardless still, it's the best TV show that's come out this year besides mobland which is right there.

Did you watch season 1 yet? If not I'd highly suggest just watching the 1st 40 minutes, it should have you absolutely hooked.

I have not. It's definitely on my short list.

It's funny, Jeff, but what initially got me to watch The Last of Us was an absolutely terrific review in our local paper for Season 2. The reviewer said it was more than a good watch, it was almost a must-watch. That review (and a subject matter that I like) really made me start this series.
I don't even know what you all are talking about as to a 'Game', so don't even bother explaining it. Same as for GOT, when people started comparing the TV series to the books, it never concerned me.

If you ever were a fan of The Walking Dead, especially in its hey-day, you will enjoy this series very much.

I usually binge-watch certain shows on Saturday, so since you said what you did, I will wait until then to finish off this show.

I did watch Mobland when it started, but like Ric, I simply cannot watch shows that need to recall characters, events, et al, once a week. I need more than a 30-second synopsis, so I wait until the entire series has played and then watch. I think I watched 2 or 3 episodes, but now I will have to start all over and watch. I did enjoy what I had seen so I know I will enjoy the entire series.
