MightyGiants

@LennG was correct.  Yesterday's answer was Steve Own

Today's question:

Who was the first coach of the Giants?
SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

MightyGiants

The answer to yesterday's question (that no one got) was-  Bob Folwell

Today's is a tougher one.  In 2005, Tiki Barber broke the Giants' record for the longest run from scrimmage with a 95-yard run.  The previous record of 91 yards had lasted for 75 years.  Who set that record?
SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

You know, I know this one, just as a piece of trivia from years ago.

Hap Morgan with a 91 yard run and he DID'T score. (not sure of the year, but it was early on)
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

Name the last straight-on kicker for the Giants

Name the Illinois small school stat sensation RB that fizzled fast in the 90s.

What Niner WR did the Giants acquire for the 1970 season known as The Stick.

In the 1970 finale against the Rams, what key DL suffered a broken leg?

What was Ray Handley's noted talent other than coaching RBs?

Impressive  :ok:

Yes, they are the New York FOOTBALL Giants, to differentiate them from the then New York based baseball team by the same name

Today's is a tricky one.  In 1930, the NY Football Giants played a famous college all-star team in a charity event in which the Giants were the underdogs (at that time, Pro football was the poor stepchildren to the college game).  The Giant's stunning upset, with Friedman running for two Giant touchdowns and Hap Moran passing for another, helped establish the legitimacy of the NFL.  Which college (bonus for the name of the famous coach) did the Giants play?

Quote from: Giant Obsession on June 25, 2024, 08:07:26 PMWHO AM I ????

I was drafted by the Giants in the 17th round.

My first preseason I caught 3 TD passes and made the practice squad heading into the season.

After learning the playbook I was activated in Week 8 and caught 4 passes for 90 yards and also had a TD reception nullified by penalty.

The next week my first start I caught 1 pass for 7 yards.

At practice that following week I severely broke my arm and was done for the season.

I played in 2 games that year.  I never played another game in the NFL.

My QB, who is in the Hall of Fame, said I had the same big play potential as Homer Jones.

I admittedly used the internet and still could not solve this one
