JS and Company doing due diligence--shows preparedness if I think about it   How did they get that many guys in one day after cuts??  Primarily CB and WR---Some draft picks in the group--even a 4th--a 5th  a couple of 6th

Maitre is a good guy who got outplayed by a true freshman last year at Wisconsin.

As long as we are holding workouts  as we should be--how about bringing in Marlon Tuipulotu, DL, a 6th round pick of the Eagles in 2021--Torn meniscus in November 2022--healthy now--went thru camp no problem  Made 53 was cut today to make room for Bryan Young who the Eagles claimed

Chris Oladukun.

I think that one if flying under most people's radar. Interesting.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you read is not what I meant - Robert McCloskey (if he were on this Forum)

Jolly Blue Giant

Julian Pearl is an interesting player. He was just with the Ravens until cutdown. Big utility offensive lineman at 6-6/312 and just turned 24. Played a lot of left tackle in Illinois. I thought he might get picked in the later rounds by the Giants if they hadn't picked up an OL-man earlier in this year's draft. Listed as a tackle, but has played all across the line in college

His scouting report:

Strengths

- Fundamentally sound and understands blocking angles, using body positioning to his advantage.
- Disciplined awareness and good intelligence.
- His high football IQ and the ability to set protections at the line of scrimmage will make him popular with position coaches. He's instinctive after the snap, reading and reacting quickly to stunts and twists, and showing an understanding of angles in the run game.
- Fires out of his stance with a good pad level, consistently winning at the point of attack.
- Pearl has long arms that allow him to survive as a pass protector on the edge, and Pearl typically plays with good balance.
- Finishes and doesn't quit; competitor with a positive attitude and leadership traits that coaches admire.
- Pearl flashes power and nastiness in the run game, able to win at the point of attack and athletic enough to get out as a pulling blocker before landing blocks on the move at the second level.

Weaknesses

- Has fairly heavy feet, struggling to mirror against quicker defenders. Pearl lacks the range to get out as an effective puller, and Pearl can often look stiff when moving out into space and zeroing in on bodies.
- Solid all-around prospect, but he's not elite in any one area.
- Attacks when necessary, though he won't consistently dominate and can lose balance overextending.
- Raw at the next level

My two centavos: A project to build into a future swing tackle

The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

Are we so satisfied with our QB situation that there is no thought to even try and upgrade?
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

Assistant Brandon Brown responded, "Why would we?"

Maybe he is looking at the situation with rose colored glasses.
Does he really think Lock or DeVito are going to step up or in, if Jones gets hurt or cannot play?
If so I've got a bridge I can sell him

Has a starting caliber QB that can win games consistently in the NFL, that are a clear significant upgrade to these guys, ever been a UFA less than a week before the season?

What exactly are you expecting? This is a make or brake year for DJ, and they seem content having guys that can step on the field if he is benched or injured, in any case, they are likely looking at a QB in 2025s draft, so why hurt the draft position?

If we as fans, or the Giants as a team, are worrying about a street QB playing meaningful snaps in 2024, something likely has gone extremely extremely wrong, whether it be injuries or piss poor play, at which point, Brian Hoyer or Ryan Tannehill are not going to make it any better.

Agreed Lenn.

I didn't hear or read the whole interview, but if that were actually a dead serious answer by Brown to that question, my currently very high opinion of him as an NFL front office executive would take a material hit.

However I have to assume it was either not serious or there was some contextual explanation.

I have some ocean-front property George Strait sold me decades ago I'm looking to off-load, if case anyone of y'all would like to get out of the rat-race of the Northeast and try your luck here in the 107-degree "moderate" sunshine of the Valley of the Sun!

Don't y'all come-a-biddin' at once, now, y'hear?

Peace!
