Hyatt only played 16 snaps (23%).  I don't know the breakout of pass-to-run plays on those snaps.  The low snap count is 100% on the HC

Of course the called plays (and associated personnel groupings) are 100% on the HC. Hyatt is WR #4 behind Nabers, Slayton, and Robinson.

In order to get Hyatt on the field, one of the better receivers ahead of him has to sit or they go without a TE.

Knowing what he has at QB, why would you take add a third deep threat when the QB won't throw long? Why take out Robinson, who is a short-yardage weapon, or one of the TEs who can provide pass protection, just to feature Hyatt? There's only one ball to go around and Hyatt is not the main guy.

A QB with better field vision is what Hyatt and this offense needs.

So many want to point the finger at the coach but it's not that simple.

Throughout the preseason (games and training camp) it seemed like Hyatt was getting more snaps than Slayton and the team was moving toward making Slayton the 4th WR.  Nothing in the player's performances suggested that moving Hyatt ahead of Slayton was ill-advised.  Then suddenly, on gameday, they reversed what they were doing for whatever reason.

If we ever get a real QB with Daboll here, I think many will likely end up not questioning the coach as much.

Look at Zac Taylor, his team went 2-14 the year before they drafted Burrow, I believe. He has since made a Super Bowl appearance, and has had a winning record each season since. Daboll at least has coach of the year, with a CFL level QB

I believe you, Rich. You were there.

I don't put much stock into preseason snap counts because they're doing more evaluations on the non-starters for the most part.

The bottom line is that the QB is more comfortable with Slayton than Hyatt and is a better all around receiver.

There's got to be something going on behind the scenes with Hyatt.  I'm sure we'll hear something in the next few days, as reporters press for answers. 

He HAS to make the most of whatever opportunities come his way. drops happen..but when you are fighting to get in the rotation, it's not going to help your case. it was a very catchable ball.

It was catchable, but DJ did him ZERO favors.  He threw it off his back foot, fading away, with absolutely no pressure; the result was a ball thrown too high and slightly behind him.  This is one of the most frustrating part of our passing game.  We rarely put our WRs in position to gain YAC.   

This is BS.  They had conviction to trade up to draft Hyatt.  Giants are terrible.  Play him fully and develop him.  Slayton is not the answer.  We know this.  Hyatt is as fast but with much better hands.  Play him til he is exhausted.

In my opinion, Hyatt is elite in terms of adjusting to throws.   When you have a scatter arm like current DJ, having a WR who can adjust to the ball is critical

What percentage of each of the following items contributed to yesterday's loss:

(1) Poor quarterback play by Daniel Jones
(2) Penalties and poor play by the offensive line
(3) Failure to get open and/or to block well by the WR's, TE's and RB's.
(4) Inconsistent play and poor execution by the defense as a whole.
(5) Daboll (all aspects, including play-calling, personnel, etc.)

Ignore all other potential factors, including (and there were) bad calls by the officials at key points.

Just throw Hyatt the ball

You do realize that Jones has become the king of the check down. Part of me understands it but the other part of me realizes that Jones is a horrible fit for this receiver corps. He had time yesterday but couldn't or wouldn't throw to a wide open receiver. There were also times when he moved himself into getting sacked. He rarely steps up in the pocket and flees at the first sign of pressure. All of that makes it nearly impossible to throw deep.
