Own it. And trust me I'm not here for you to like me...

But are you here other than trashing Jones. Your posting history suggests otherwise...

I asked you for a verbatim quote. I said Jones was a better QB than Burrow too? Wow, that must have been one boring wild card game 3 years ago against the Titans that Burrow played.  And since that time Mike Glennon made another roster on a play off team in the middle of a season in a do or die last season game. And are you here for any reason than to pollyanna that Jones is may not be a great QB but, I have to root, root for the home team just the same? You have you're flavor of fandom I have mine. i see an obvious defect in a team and, the guy gone. Is that crazy?

Most things you say are crazy which is why most ignore you.

Quote from: PSUBeirut on September 15, 2024, 07:23:20 PMAgainst one of the worst pass defenses in the league, I was unimpressed.  He had lots of time and was mostly meh.  Nabers got an absolutely ridiculous target share, which I doubt with a better defense backfield would be a workable plan moving forward.  We really need to work the middle the field more with the TE, IMO.

Exactly, like every other team in the league.

Jones was good. Everyone else made the mistakes that lose games. If Nabors makes the catch he has to make, the Giants probably win. Can't make an extra point. Regardless, for an Offense that only had 22 minutes on the field, was 3 for 3 in the red zone, and was running the ball at 6 yards a carry, the statistics for Jones were naturally low.

Translation: Jones was not the problem. This was a game of possessions. Washington had one more than the Giants. Singletary's fumble was the problem. The Defense's inability to get off the field was the problem. The Defensive Penalties were a problem. The missed opportunities for an extra point and two-point conversions were a problem. It looked like Jones and the Giants could have put up 30 on Washington without much trouble. Unfortunately, they rarely had the ball, and when they did FGs were not an option.

I was encouraged by what I saw from Jones. The result was hard to swallow.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you read is not what I meant - Robert McCloskey (if he were on this Forum)

Kurt Warner did a FANTASTIC breakdown on DJ.

Had a excellent view with the all 22 so you could see all the players who were open and weren't

Great perspective also on what defines very good QB play vs. not so good.

If you cant watch the whole thing at least catch the 1st 5-10 minutes.

Click watch on Youtube in the window above.

Week 1 was terrible and some of that was on Daboll as Warner mentions. Week 2 was a big turnaround.

Who knows what this means moving forward but we will begin to see in a couple days.

It's OK to be a detractor of DJ . It's also OK to acknowledge when he had a really good game too.
