0-2 facing a tougher opponent in the Browns

a quick turnaround game against the Cowboys on Thursday night

0-4 could put the coach and possibly the GM in the hotseat

There could be yet another rebooting of this franchise

Of course you can count on the Giants winning meaningless games after being out of the playoff hunt to ensure they don't have a chance at getting their franchise QB

GREAT points made here.

I know this isn't popular but I'd sign up for Bellichick in a heartbeat and see what he can do to help this team in the short term

Schoen isn't in the hot seat even if the the fans are restless. He'll be the GM next year. The year after if there isn't improvement is when his seat will got hot with Mara. IMHO Mara screwed up pick Schoen over Poles but Schoen, outside of the Jones extension, has been solid.

After three drafts, has any of his draft picks outperformed their draft slot?

An excellent focus statement leading into today's game, Rich @MightyGiants . Also, because it is all so true.

If there is a team of character, let today be the day they begin to let it shine, for the alternative we know will be despair and utter destruction as the season progresses.

Peace!

Too early to tell but I agree the early returns, especially Neal and Kayvon do not look good. Yet Schoen had to flip a weak roster and has developed a young core. Mara will be patient with Joe, if Daboll loses the locker room, his spot not so much.

If they can make any headway this week against the Browns who also have a struggling Offense and come close or beat the Cowboys who had their asses kicked by the Saints, then this thing pivots around. This year I'd rather face Dallas than the Saints this week.

Schoen's picks remind me of Jerry Reese and not in a good way.

it is getting closer to doom and gloom, but there is still a light of hope. This week could potentially be a turning point of the season. 2-2 vs 0-4 going into a hard part of our schedule as well. If we are 1-3 then eh, another muddy pool.

Ed,

At this point, I need actual victories not moral victories or signs of progress

Solid?  No way.  His drafts have been meh.  Thibs/Neal looking questionable at best?  Deonte Banks is far from killing anyone it.  WanDale who was the 2nd round story.  He's ok but there were others who seem to be having better NFL careers. Dont even get me started on all his mid-late rounders.  No 5th round Dave Meggett type success picks.

Nabers/Nubin/Phillips are showing good early round promise but it is early to judge either way.  Even if successful, he's missed too much IMHO.

I'll pack it in when it's time. The season isn't over until the fat lady sings.

They have to find their qb of the future, but will both Daboll and Schoen live to see if another season slips away potentially?

I am really on the fence with the outcome here. Thinking if the team fights hard, doesn't quit, they still could survive a 4 or 5 win season but a win today is an absolute must-any means necessary.

As far Schoen goes, a monkey could have gotten Nabors right. There are 3 first picks prior that are nowhere near pro bowl status..one a complete bust in Neal.

The his roster being short of a full accompliment the first two weeks,  in concert with Daboll,  is not a good look. More like malpractice.
