After watching the game, I'm wondering how much of this can and should be attributed to Daboll and the coaches?

1. 9 seconds left in half at home with Malik in the game - we kick a FG

2. 4th and 3 (I think?) and we punt again at home

3. Nice throw to Bellinger and another to Theo yet we don't keep dialing them up

4. Limited screen passes

5. Not benching Banks after not hustling

6. Jones not getting the 1st down at end of half (he easily could've had it)

7. Malik not going out of bounds at end of first half (he was right there)

8. Our punt team CONTINUES to have players right near the ball as it is bouncing. Can be disasterous

9. Saquon makes big plays and Eagles keep him in the game - our guys make big plays they get a break

10. The QB keeper aint foooling anyone

All the plays.

I just don't like Daboll's offense as a fit here.

Yes Daniel Jones stinks. But Daboll's supposed to be good with QBs, too. Watching this team line up in a shotgun offense like they've got Warren Moon at QB makes my skin crawl. WTF are they doing? 2 weeks in a row now, after Tracy has a beautiful performance vs. the Seahawks. With DJ up, under center. That's how you protect a limited QB.

Let some dome team with a passing QB give Daboll a shot. The Giants need to get back to the Parcells/Coughlin style of attack. Cold, late season important games and you had to deal with a nasty run blocking OL and physical RBs. It still works. Go watch a Detroit Lions game if you don't believe me.

Looked to me like he didn't try his hardest when Hurts was scrambling

I thought he let up because he thought that he was closer to the sideline than he was and didn't want to get a 15 yard penalty.

Fair enough I'd have to go look again. Just saw it in real time that was my initial reaction

In the past whenever I've made a post like this I've been routinely eviscerated. Thus I no longer bother.

Dabolls play calls have plenty of wide open receivers that never get targeted since DJ very rarely doesnt lock on to his first read every play. Not sure you can fault Daboll, unless I am mistaken Daboll isnt dressed to play, and isnt the one throwing the passes.

Can't fault him for that

Well he needs to get jones coached up better there. thats literally his job. im sure its easier said than done, but if jones is routinely not doing something well, its the coaches job to work on that.

I can agree, but you can only put so much lipstick on a pig. I think the QB is just a loss cause.

The contract ultimately never should have happened, but sadly, Lock and DeVito aren't any better, and they have always won just enough to  not be able to draft a better option.

They have sucked for the last decade, and have also sucked at sucking, it has been brutal, and absolutely painful.

I just rewatched it. Banks slowed up well before the sideline. Garbage stuff from a less than stellar performer and an even less stellar professional Giant

MrGap - there is just no angle that absolves Daboll from this.

He's been working with DJ for 3 years now and his answer is to line him up in shotgun and put the team's fortunes on his passing ability, scanning the field and making quick decisions?

Jones sucks, so we put the whole game on his shoulders and completely abandon the run?

The only thing that makes sense is the guy wants to be fired, or he's 100% in over his head.

MrGap92

Well excuse me for thinking a guy getting paid a fortune should be expected to throw a ball at people who are WIDE open, at times even waving to him to get his attention.

I guess that is too much to ask for, so pardon me and disregard anything I said, we should not let facts clous our judgment of the Almighty Daniel.

definitely agree there. a good coach could find ways to at least get some production out of him though. i think they both suck .
