If Schoen is serious about winning, he trades Ojulari as soon as KT is healthy

I seriously doubt they re-sign him after the season

Trade him now!  Don't even bother waiting if a good deal is available.  He's gotta be shopping Ojulari around to all the contending teams.

Health is too big a concern for the Giants to sign him. I doubt they get much, but anything is better than nothing.

He may actually be better than Thibs. Sure you want to do that?

I don't think this is a wise move at all, and I completely disagree with it.

The 2007 and 2011 Giants D line was notorious for having elite pass rushers.

As Accorsi used to say, you can't have enough of them.

Keep him, KT and Burns, and build upon its strength

Keep

He's an absolute liability against the run.  Yes, trade him!

He's a back up for the Giants. The asking price will not be commensurate with his down to down impact. Even if it were he's going to be looking for a chance to start and is unlikely to return. Might as well get some assets in return for him instead of losing him for nothing.

The Giants are a bottom five team in football and don't have their QB of the future. I'd be open to a discussion about literally anyone on the roster if I were Schoen.

Been thinking his play this year has been a positive for this purpose.  He is a solid complementary pass rusher and situational player.

What do you think about shopping Slayton?  He's a FA at the end of the year and if they could get something for him now it might be worthwhile.  Are there any contenders that have lost a WR to injury?
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

Not slowing my roll

I don't think nobody should be off the table bar Nabers and perhaps Tracey on the offense. Whilst Thomas is good, he's not on the field a lot and nobody is picking up an injured LT at the deadline. Slayton might Garner you a 5th/6th.

On the other side of the ball, I'd be moving on from everyone bar Dex - unless you get a Kings Ransom. Ojulari might get you a slayton type return but neither of those pieces are likely to tempt a partner during the draft.

Unlike last year where you may have got a 3rd/4th for Barkley or a 4th/5th for McKinney I don't see where we are selling.

Of course, if you're selling off the parts a corresponding move that must be made is to bench Jones to ensure no injury guarantee.

Basically, despite having the wide receiver, I think we are in more of mess than this time last year.

A 5th and 6th is garbage capital and a short stroll from an UFA. Unless he needs to clear cap, Schoen would be a moron to trade a highly contributing player like Slay or Ojulari for a bag of donuts.

Ed,

I completely agree with you.

Slayton is on pace for 938 yards

And

Ojulari is on pace for 12.8 sacks.

On what planet do both of those players only net return a 5th or 6th rd pick?

The notion is absolutely ludicrous.

There's next to no chance you get more than a 5th rounder for either one of those guys. And they might even have to throw in a 6th rounder just to get the 5th.

Any notion that a team is going to pay more than a 5th for half a year of those guys is ludicrous.
