What about Tyrod or DeVito having a higher percentage?

I don't think DeVito is better, but these stats indicate otherwise if this is the be all end all

Quote from: Doc16LT56 on November 04, 2024, 01:14:05 PMAccording to Stat Muse, Daniel Jones has the 17th worst winning percentage in NFL history of QBs with at least 68 starts. He has a good chance to crack the top-10.

I mean c'mon guys look at the company he is in. Were these all great QBs that were all broken? Let's be real.

Quote from: MightyGiants on November 04, 2024, 01:33:06 PMHe was playing for a lousy team that wasn't getting any better
So maybe Daniel Jones should retire

Quote from: Doc16LT56 on November 04, 2024, 01:02:41 PM1. You're comparing Jones to his backups. Bring in a starter next season and let's see how they do.

2. It looks like you're missing some games.

With Jones. 68 starts. 24 wins.  0.358 winning percentage

Without Jones. 24 games. 7 wins. 0.291 winning percentage

Eli: 1-3
McCoy: 1-1
Glennon: 0-4
Fromm: 0-2
Webb: 0-1
Tyrod: 2-3
DeVito: 3-3

Interesting how the only 2, that were rostered by Schoen and Daboll, have the biggest win %, Jones included..........

If I was DJ's friend and the team didn't release him (and significant organizational changes weren't made) that is what I would suggest to him, even if he would have to return some of his signing bonus.

What QB was brought in to pose any kind of competition for Jones?

The Giants haven't drafted a QB since Jones in 2019, that is longest stretch since the 50's

The Front office has purposely not had competition

Still hard to ignore the countless mistakes in so much of his film, many continue over and over again

It pains me to say but the team is a joke. A complete dysfunctional, embarrassment of a joke.

Jones isn't the only problem but he is one of the biggest and at a minimum in the conversation of biggest problems.

He never should not have been given 5 years, happenstance didn't help the Giants in that regard..
Quote from: MightyGiants on November 04, 2024, 01:23:58 PMStill, the stats I provided show that the team more than Jones is the issue
The stats you showed only show Jones is more successful than the other alternatives at the same position.  They absolutely do not show Jones is a bigger problem than the team or vice versa

Then you'd be a good friend. If John Mara won't put him out of his misery, he should walk away and preserve whatever shred of dignity he has left.

If I were to rank them

1)  Mara/Tisch-  the guys hiring the GMs and HCs

2) Schoen and Daboll- no improvement (might be worse) after 3 years

3) Daniel Jones

He has had two major neck injuries and an ACL under Mara's employ.  It's far more than his "dignity" that he is protecting if he walked away from this dumpster fire of a franchise

I agree. Take him out behind the barn. That dog won't hunt.

Jones is 27. He is not retiring and ludicrous to even suggest that he will.

There were probably a few sarcasm emotes missing

He will make an adequate backup for someone next year

Daniel Jones is 27 and earned a bit over $107 million in his career.   He has suffered many injuries, including two major neck injuries and a torn ACL.  The only thing that is "ludicrous" suggests a wise man wouldn't walk away with all that money while he still can.    Sure, his competitive nature and toughness may get the better of his common sense, but it's hardly "ludicrous" to suggest he should make the smart move.

Very few if anyone that I've read here.

Edit - but I'd be interested to read the posts that purely just blame Jones for the Giants woes.
