I almost couldn't believe it but he looked like an NFL caliber OT.  Certainly not a stud but much better than he usually looks.

He should play the rest of the year.   Maybe this is a one game aberration but if he's actually found something with the new OL coach that can actually build his confidence and get him some experience on the field without allowing his QB to be assaulted...they need to do it.  Him turning into a serviceable player gives them one less hole to have to fill going into next season and really they might just be a QB away from a complete offense at that point.

Refresh my memory, he was hurt to start camp or the season, correct?  If so, maybe he was finally healthy enough to start?  Just speculating.

So why the hell has he been on the bench since AT went down? Why wasn't this starting lineup tried 3 weeks ago? I am losing my mind with Daboll.

I made an effort to focus on Neal today and yeah he looked good.

I think the same thing with Hyatt. Once you're in the dog house you don't get out. Although Neal earned another game and that last drive Hyatt caught every ball thrown in his general direction so maybe they both get another chance next week.

Absolutely correct!...Daboll is a strange coach in so many ways. Guys on this site have said Hyatt is washed up and isn't a good receiver even though he hasn't gotten a fair opportunity.

For Schoen, I'm certain he'd like to go into the off-season being able to claim Neal as an asset going forward (not saying that will happen, but there's incentive there... for Daboll as well).

How has Hyatt not gotten a fair shot?  Is it possible he is making errors in practice and a coach on the hot seat didn't want to put in a guy that he doesn't trust?

Do we really think there is some bias against Hyatt? Do we think Daboll doesn't want to put people who give him the best chance to win on the field?

Maybe, just maybe he saw more opportunities today because he has been progressing on the practice field.  Two weeks ago he ran the wrong route and Jone could have easily been intercepted on the throw.

Yes I do feel there is bias against Hyatt. He showed clearly as a rookie he deserved to play and even start in my opinion. Slayton too many drops. If he messes up in practice then coach should give us a reason. Same with Neal and anyone else.

Coach owes us nothing.  Coach needs to keep things in house and win games.

If the Giants have a coach who isn't putting in the guys he thinks give the team the best chance to win, then this is way worse than I ever an imagined.

The idea a coach would put his job on the line for some bias against a player seems completely off the wall to me.  I would like to hear the reaction if someone called into a radio show with former players and coaches and suggested that.

If that's true then we have bigger issues because everyone saw clear as day today that Hyatt DOES have plenty of skills. If Daboll doesn't see it then I am afraid of what the future holds for us

Two weeks ago I saw Hyatt run the wrong route and almost cause an interception.  He has physical talent.  Today he looked good.  That doesn't mean he would have done the same thing all season long.
