Saquon is currently on pace to break the following records. Granted he gets a 17 game season and 6 games is a long way to go. Still, this is about as impressive as it gets.

Single season rushing yards:
Eric Dickerson, 2,105 yards in 1984

Single season yards from scrimmage:
Chris Johnson, 2,509 yards in 2009

The worst part is, if Saquon breaks these records, it will likely happen against the Giants in Philadelphia.

Shoen.....let the following players and leaders go without compensation:
Love
McKinney
Barkley
Can't remember name but D lineman playing for Cincy
in the last two years ....and more
Kept Jones
has not addressed the O line adequately  Other the center in second round (who got tossed around like a rag doll yesterday) his high picks have not worked out.
And I say again.....nobody good wants to come to New York and play for this mess...

BJ Hill? I am pretty sure that was a Gettleman trade. Hey we got compensation. Billy Price!

I f'ing hated that trade and the premise that coaching could turn around a former 1st rd pick. He was awful...full stop.

In hindsight it's bad but they had Dex and Williams in the middle and needed a centre.

At the time, I can see why it was done.

Yes. It was a trade made of desperation. Remember Gettleman's famous quote after the 2021 draft? "It's really apparent that we have more confidence in our offensive line than you guys do." By the end of training camp Gettleman was panicking and trading for surplus OL.

Me, you, and GMO hated that trade.

What I remember most about the BJ Hill trade is some posters bashing Hill and calling him a bust.  Never understood that.

Just wait till Thibs becomes a pro bowler on this next team.

Boy oh boy that would sting Toomer!!

I just don't see Thibs improvement one on one is my issue. Maybe a new coordinator could help. Or a coach like Bellichick

Tiki mentioned it today that McKinney didnt want to be here.  Think it was Boomer talking about it this morning, GB has a young D, had cap space and a need at safety so they could afford to pay him.  Giants did not have that and couldn't pay him what GB paid him.  Worst thing that happened to this team was the 2022 play-off season.  Left them in a position to not be able to get a QB in draft, and they had to extend Jones.  Had to structure the deal the way they did in order to fit him under the cap as the franchise tag would have been too expensive last year.

I understand the reasoning....but maybe with some planning ahead and  they had to know what they were working with cap wise. Trade somebody , one of them to keep the others get something instead of letting them both walk. Fact remains they put all their money on Jones. A lot of money for an average guy at the time. Still sounds like poor management of cap / players etc.  seems like they just look to next year and not to a 3 year plan or however it can be done .

The other point Evan made yesterday was in regards to Barkley.  "Look at how players are reacting to the Jones trade.  Could you imagine how bad it would have been last year if they traded Barkley for a 4th round pick?"

People can disagree with me and I won't change my stance.  You swap Barkley and Tracy, all else being equal, and not much would be different.  Not saying Tracy would put up these numbers, but the Eagles would still be 9-2 and the Giants MIGHT be 4-7.  So, too good to get a top 2 pick, but nowhere near a play-off spot.

I think the players reaction to Jones is the way it was handled.  Not the fact they benched him . Class less move making him show up as a safety on practice team.  Really, could and should have been handled differently.
Nobody knows what the conversation was but they were willing to let him stand in back of room for next six weeks because of his injury clause. Was he willing to wave it ? Make him back up and tell him why? Look how the Kid in Carolina responded after being benched...pretty good.
I just think it was handled poorly and apparently some players do as well.

To your point Woody from the first time he took the field as a Giants QB he was never a back-up, never asked to compete for his job, and until now, he was never benched.

This goes back to his rookie year.

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!
