How about Kelvin Banks Jr. (Left Tackle, Texas)?

Peace!

He left tonight's game in 1Q.  Don't know extent of injury

All the mock draft sims put Milroe in the 2nd round.  I think strongly he goes first round probably mid to late round.

Giants can trade back to get picks and take someone else at another position but if they want Milroe they probably have to trade back in the first round.  I am ok with that.

Milroe's escapability can pressure a D.  Giants may want that in a QB as they develop his passing skills.

I would be careful about where mock drafts sims put QBs.  Many of them allowed you to draft Nix or Pennix in round 2 or low round 1 last year.

I can't help but think of the old saying-  The best time to draft a QB is when you don't need a QB

When I think of the NY Giants  :(

Didn't we draft a QB/trade for Eli when we absolutely needed a QB. Only one QB since 04 has been taken in the first round so small sample size maybe?

If it's an old saying then it's so old that it belongs in a retirement home. It's practical nonsense; something which if ever it had any substance, it would have been some 30 years ago before Free Agency and Salary Cap.

When I think of the Giants, their need for a starting QB has never been clearer or more certain. As long as they remain in a position to Draft Sanders or Ward and not otherwise sign a bridge to "who knows where", that's what I hope they will do.

I'm not interested in "are they good enough"? or should we wait and see who and what next year? Since having been pinned to the wall by Misfortune following Gettleman's Mistakes, I have no qualm as a Giants fan in awaiting Schoen's and Daboll's less encumbered decisions.

Cheers!

Milroe has 0 TD passes in 4 of his last 5 games. If we waste a 1st round pick on him, it would be another 4-5 years of being frozen in place.

Larry,

I am not advocating the Giants don't draft a QB.  I believe they absolutely should, if they have conviction on one.

As for old sayings, I am quite fond of them because I have found that old sayings exist because they stand the test of time.  Just off the top of my head (no research)

Eli Manning (credit @TDToomer )
Patrick Mahomes
Tom Brady
Jordon Love
Jalen Hurts
Aaron Rodgers
Dak Prescott

They were all QBs drafted by teams that didn't need QBs.

Milroe has 2 TDs passing and 9 TDs rushing over the past five games.

We're not drafting him to be a RB. He needs to be able to throw the ball in order to win in the NFL. And if he can't even do it with success at the college ranks with top personnel all around him, why would we waste a 1st rounder on him when he'd be surrounded by lesser talent and playing against better defenses.

0 passing TDs in 4 of 5 games should be an immediate deal breaker for a first round QB.

For the 12 game season so far he has 2700 yards, a whopping 14 yards per completion and a rating of 153. In the 5 games you picked they are 4-1.

He's far from a finished product.

Bringing up a QB's rushing stats to try to mitigate his ugly passing numbers sounds a lot like someone else we all know here.

Kind of hoping history doesn't repeat itself.
