"Landman" (also by Sheridan) is very promising so far. Billy Bob is a top actor. Moore and Hamm are no slouches either. This show has major potential.

With Tulsa King, Yellowstone, Special Ops: Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, and others, Sheridan completely owns the entertainment biz right now. Dominant career to this point.

I have every intention of watching it, but I'll wait until all episodes have dropped. Waiting a week for one episode is torture to me. I guess I'm spoiled from the unlimited television available

[SPOILER ALERT]

I think it was a little bit of a bullsh!t move by Sheridan to take Costner out of Yellowstone by using a body double to commit suicide. I can see him getting killed, but not by suicide. Completely goes against the grain of the charater John Dutton would do. I think Sheridan was pissed at Costner, so he removed him from the show in the most embarassing way possible
I think Sheridan made a mistake
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

Like @MightyGiants who mentioned earlier that he's a fan of British and Australian TV, I am as well. Taking advantage a Black Friday deal, I signed up with Acorn TV yesterday and promptly began re-watching Inspector George Gently. This British crime series was originally aired in the UK in the early 2000's but series takes place in the mid/late 1960's. I watched a few episodes years ago when it was on Netflix but they have since removed it. Starting back at the beginning since I've forgotten so much.

*Edit - Also I finished season 2 of The Diplomat on Netflix a couple evenings ago. Very good show and highly recommended if you have Netflix.

As far as British/Australian TV goes, my wife and I have recently gotten involved in the British series "Midsomer Murders" which we get thru Prime.
For those unfamiliar, it's pretty much just what it sounds like.
Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby and his Detective Sargeant investigate and solve murders in the various villages in and around Midsomer Causten.
Very civilized and very British crime solving. Been on for about 20 seasons  and we usually watch 3 or 4 episodes a week. The episodes are about 90 minutes each.
As from Australia, Netflix has a 30 minute comedy called "Upper Middle Bogan" that I think is a riot. A doctor with a posh upbringing and her kids in private school discovers she was adopted and finds out her biological family makes their living as a drag racing team...with her Mom as the driver!
Of course worlds collide when the families meet, some members accepting and others not so much. Some good subplots and good laughs.

I started watching "A Man on the Inside" (Netflix), which is an old retired college professor of engineering (Ted Danson), as a 75 yr old widow...recruited to go undercover in a high-end nursing home as a spy, to try and solve a crime. It's 8 episodes (all dropped). Each episode is about 22-24 minutes long, so it's basically a 3 1/2 hour movie, broken up in 8 pieces. I'm enjoying it

I also started a new series, The Penguin on MAX I believe. I am 3 episodes in and I find it very entertaining.
You remember the Penguin, from the Batman series.

Other than series, I LOVE shows where I can learn things from. I watch a lot on the History Channel and from our local cable provider I have several stations that just deal with history and things in that realm.

For example, give me a show or shows about WWII that I have not seen and I would be first in line to watch, same for the Civil War and the Revolutionary War. I simply google these up and still want more.

I just finished a short series on some of the more famous Indians, like Geronimo, Sittle Bull, Cochise, and Crazy Horse. I find these shows fascinating especially when they are honest enough and show the Indian point of view. As I have said many times, I am a sucker for Westerns and anything to do with the West from our past. I have been to Monument Valley 4 times, where John Wayne made so many great movies. I have watched countless shows on Western heroes, Like Wyatt Earp, Buffalo Bill, Billy the Kid, and just so many from that era.

Since the other day was the anniversary of JFK's assassination, they had many shows on him, and the assassination and we watched a new show, 24 hours after the assassination. Just when you thought you knew all there was to know, they presented several facts (or they claim them as facts) on Johnson, Jackie, and some others right during those 24 hours after the assassination.
BTW, did you know JFK's coffin ended up being buried at sea? https://www.wearethemighty.com/mighty-history/why-jfks-first-coffin-was-buried-at-the-bottom-of-the-ocean/)

Anyway, I watch a lot of TV, but a lot of it because I also want to learn.

As mentioned prior, I've recently subscribed to Acorn TV and have been getting back into the series, "Inspector George Gently," which I'm really enjoying. But in between episodes I've started watching a British documentary called "Canal Boat Diaries." I'm only a couple episodes in, but what a great change of pace! Just a man living on his narrowboat, exploring the English canal system and taking in the beautiful scenery and "canal towns" along the way. Due to its calm, serene  presentation it reminds me a little bit of a couple other British series I've enjoyed in the past, and maybe even commented on here earlier called, "Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing" and "The Detectorists." All three shows have, at their core, a certain calming and peacefulness that I've come to really appreciate. But if car chases, violence, and arbitrary killing is the type of show or movie that excites you then this show definitely isn't for you.

Sem, This is one of the exact reasons we like to watch Midsomer Murders. My description of it was "Civilized".
My wife said, "This is the most calming and relaxing show about Murder that I have ever seen."
Now granted, it's fiction, but like you said, no crazy car chases, no shoot outs, no explosions. Nothing we see on a regular basis on American TV. It's quite a change of pace and we love it.

I've seen a couple random episodes of Midsomer Murders and agree 100 percent.

As a complete Brit, I'm partial to Midsomer Murders

Just finished a documentary film about The Beatles 14 day tour of America in 1964. It is pretty good for us older Beatles fans. Brought back a lot of memories of that time for me. Was put out by Apple, produced by Paul and Ringo. It is named "Beatles '64"

I believe it is on Disney. We just signed up for it so we are looking forward to this show.

I do not have access to HBO / MAX but I do know The Penguin is a show folks are talking about.
Along the same lines, there was a show called "Gotham" on FOX between 2014 - 2019, which was a kind of origin story for Batman. (One of the many!) I loved it. It was a kind of origin story for a lot of the Batman characters, including the Penguin, Catwoman, Riddler. I thought it was very well done and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I don't know how dark or violent the Penguin is, Gotham wasn't really dark, but it set a very good mood for the story. If any of you Penguin fans can find Gotham streaming somewhere, give it a go.
