"You'd rather your team go out there and fight for every inch than lay down and just take an ass-whooping.

Yeah, you get your pick that you wanted, but what is that player coming into? You've got to establish some sort of culture.

We're trying to establish a culture that can lead into next year. Once we get more pieces in here...I'm sure everything will still work out how this franchise needs it to work out."

I respect that. I expect that. It's been said many times that players don't give two shits about the draft. That's for fans and draftniks.

I don't disagree with him. I'm happy for the players.
 :Giants:  ALL HAIL THE NEW YORK GIANTS!!!  :Giants:

"We're going to build this thing the right way... I'm not going to do a Hail Mary for self preservation. We've got a plan in place and we're going to stick with that"

-Giants GM Joe Schoen on potential roster plans and spending for the 2025 season.

Good for him for trying. I still think this win will have as much effect on establishing a winning culture as their preseason win against Detroit. It's nice to win. Decision makers have to be able to see the forest for the trees.

Jermaine is new here.  So he doesn't understand.  It's fine.  However....Jermaine, if I may...

They do this every damn year!! How much has the "winning culture" they've built by screwing themselves over every December helped?  Maybe just ONCE we can try it the other way and actually..ya know...HELP the future of the team.

That is the Giant Way

Treat their fans to a terrible season that is over by Halloween.

Win a few meaningless games to tank the draft position and have a chance to make a significant difference via the draft.

Rinse, repeat

As an offensive lineman, brought in to be part of SI#1:

"Fix the Damned Offensive Line!"

I have great respect for him and his endeavor.

Furthermore, he's absolutely right!

This week's SI#1 Balanced Scorecard Rating: BLUE (Trending UP).

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

Give him a few more years of Drew Lock or Jameis Winston or whatever bum plays QB next year for the Giants and he'll look back on this Colts game with a whole new perspective.

UncannyGfan

The league has to switch to a draft lottery to get rid of the incentive to tank.  We just witnessed one of the greatest ever performances by QB and most of the board is miserable today.

Rest assured the Eagles will have no problem next week helping us establish the winning culture that Eleumenor speaks of.

He acts as if going 3-14 instead of 2-15 is going to make a difference in the teams culture. Frankly our culture sucks. He and his teammates repeatedly didn't show up for games weeks at a time this year. Give me a break.

That's another good point.  Where the hell was the precious culture during the 10 game losing streak?  They couldn't be bothered to even show up for more than half the games this year but somehow beating a Colts team that put out one of the worst performances of their season is going to carry over?  Please.

Obviously, Eluemunor is just a stooge, huh Rich? Still, it seems that you may no longer be capable of doing much more than adding to the negativity, the bitching, the moaning and the whining. I keep trying to believe that you have more to offer than that sort of incessant self-deprecation or is it more like self-pitying. It's hardly becoming to your position and certainly most folks here don't need your help in that regard. There may even be some who might hope to see a Mighty-er-Giant in the future. Could you possibly give that a thought?

Cheers!

Agreed, GMO; there is no correlation to winning a few meaningless games at the end of the season to the subsequent years.  Fundamentally, it does not matter.  However, from an individual perspective, some of these men are playing for thier careers.

Larry,

For the first time in years, I see a lot to be optimistic about.  We have the NFLs best rookie class as our foundation; get the right QB and we can become next year's Commanders.

Oh I don't blame any of the players to be clear.  I'm lashing out at his comments after the game like this was somehow doing us a favor.  That pissed me off.  But i don't blame the players for trying that's their job.  I wish they would have tried to win a few more games earlier in the year before the season was completely lost.

I blame Schoen for not putting Nabers on IR the second he said his ankle hurt a little bit. As soon as you have an excuse to throw that dude on IR you do it.  It's your JOB to think about the future of the team.  It's the players' job to win the game regardless of anything else.  Now I don't if maybe Nabers demanded to play or would have been furious to be held back and they didn't want to infuriate their best playercausing a ruckus in the locker room and media.  But he should not have played in that game if it was at all possible to prevent it.
