Daboll and Schoen retained, per ESPN

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

Absolutely no surprise.

You're not sitting a 40mil QB for an UDFA in DeVito and facing the sack. This would have been agreed prior to that move. The players played hard for Daboll, clearly he still has the dressing room.

Unwards and upwards, hopefully.

[season!

I don't think he wonders at all. When you're in the top five richest NFL teams, there's little to wonder about, apart from how to get from four, their present rank, to three, two and then one.

Meanwhile, back at the Sardine Ranch, life goes on, and ...

As CJA used to say ...

And the beat goes on!

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

I want to hear from Mara who is he holding ACCOUNTABLE for one of the worst seasons in team history.  This is why the team is bad-  Mara holds no one accountable for doing a good job.

I just got the text from them.  So Daboll and Schoen don't even need to present their plan today?

So let me get this straight.  If Mara had let them know this two weeks ago,  the charade of the Colts game never would have happened.  They would have played that like they did the eagles.  Unless not going 0-9 at home was that important to him.  So,  they cost themselves a possible shot at the QBs now (I'm not upset by that, but what do I know) because he couldn't have decided this a week ago?  Them playing hard last week was such a determining factor?

Blue Since ‘62

I'm not surprised that this is how this played out. Hopefully it was made clear to Schoen and Daboll that the leash is short.

They play hard, but they don't play smart.  At some point, you need more than just trying

I could tell yesterday watching post game presser that Daboll was safe...he knew it going into game I'm sure. His very vanilla game plan indicated to me at least, that he did not need to win or even tried to win the game , instead he was content to lose and keep at least the fourth pick and as it turned out they ended up with third pick.
Like I said prior , if they come out in first game next year and get demolished I hope Mara tech will have the balls to make a change during the season at some point if next year mimics this year.tough schedule or not .
Daboll has much to prove to me and I think many others that he is capable of getting a team to be competitive.
We will see.

Mara is on a short leash, I am don't have to be a fan of a team with an owner that doesn't demand any sort of accountability or positive results from his employees.

The press release was the best way to handle it, and I'm sure we will be hearing from Schoen later today.

What's unknown is when they knew they would be coming back. I believe Schoen knew he would be back and Daboll was decided only recently. That question will be asked today, but I don't expect a straight answer.

Yes, I may not have a say with Mara, but I do have a say in where I spend my time and energies

Whilst we disagree on a lot, they need to sort out the trainer side of things. To be decimated by injury year on year is appalling.

Get the healthy players on the field, get competent QB play and we will see what happens.

The leash will be short for both, so they need to knock this out the park from now until the start of the season. They then have to put a winning product on the field.

I believe they can do it and I'm looking forward to the off-season. It's not the case for everyone, I get that, they've made decisions I've vehemently disagreed with in the past, but for now - I truly believe this is the correct course of action.
