Quote from: TDToomer on January 13, 2025, 08:00:20 PMOfficially third string/emergency QB tonight. But hey 10-12 teams wanted him and 3 were going to make him a starter.  =))

He simply chose one of the 12 that weren't starting him.

A bidding war for a 3rd string

That was clearly just rumor and farce. I also suspect he'll have limited interest this offseason, despite the number of QB-needy teams. He's likely looking at a Mitchell Trubisky-to-Pittsburgh type deal, adjusted for inflation.

lol. I'm not sure you can classify a league min salary as a bidding war.

It wasn't even like The Price is Right, where someone bid $1 more.

League min?  Thought it was federal minimum wage?

Vikings must be starting to see what we have been seeing for a very very long time!

He is probably the best #3 QB in NFL History

That's fair.

I do think his value would be 3rd or 4th and short

Trubisky is Allen's back up in Buffalo.

I'm referring to his post Chi deal with Pitt; he actually had comparable numbers to DJ.

Daniel is going to be 1-2 in the playoffs  /sarcasm/

TD: Clearly, three teams were not promising to make Jones a starter, but tell me honestly:

Do you believe Jones would have done worse than Darnold did in the tonight's game against the Rams?

I do not. Jones' mobility (however lumbering and/or limited it might have been) would have proven to be a much-needed asset which the Vikings desperately needed (and which Darnold completely lacks).

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Good thing there is no hate for Daniel Jones.   Otherwise there would be a slew of posts mocking the man who isn't even on the team anymore
