Good luck to Eli Manning in hopefully getting the gold jacket tonight.

If if there is no doubt about Troy Aikman being in, so should Eli.

He won two super bowls, 2 SB MVP, both against Brady. Throw in where his stats stand all time, his durability, character, etc

No reason he should not get in right away.

No question, no doubt in my mind that he should. I am a bit concerned, however, that some will slow-walk-it based on what they choose to regard as his "profoundly mediocre" Regular Season 117-117 QBRec. Yeah! There are those.

Cheers!

Throwing my "positive vibes" into our collective "well-wishes" for Eli Manning to be the next Football Giant welcomed into Canton.

Peace!

I agree that it shouldn't be; don't we all? But, I can't completely rid myself of that cringy feeling that there will be some who will make him wait a year for that very friggin reason.

Cheers!

When this question circulated this board about 10 years ago, the consensus was that he should be a first ballot HOF. Just an observation.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

Yes PLEASE induct Eli, he is very deserving!

For my money AND avatar, I am one of few who believe that Phil should also be in by now.

But for now, let's shine the light on Mr. Clutch, Mr. BIG MOMENT, Mr. RISE to the occasion, and the best HC in his family...EASY E! #10 !!
From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

Maybe as time goes on people with come to appreciate Eli Manning's "Iron Horse" QB credentials.

Compared to todays generation, what he accomplished in terms of health and playing hurt is incredible

Do these writers know beforehand what the results of the votes are? That seems like such a bad idea. You're going to have leaks all the time if that's the case. If it's not the case then how does this Ira guy know anything?

Jeff, they may not have the actual votes (or they might be), but they're certainly aware of the arguments for and against.  I suspect it's fairly easy to glean the aggregate vote based on those conversations.

You have been consistent with those concerns for 5 years.  It appears your supposition was proved correct, Larry.  I suspect this is the voters telling Eli he's not a first ballot HoF'er, which is a load of crap.
