Do you really want to risk being in Daniel Jones Land again for 4 more seasons? Not to mention, who knows how well this kid will take coaching from anyone other than his father...How would THAT CIRCUS go over in this market?! Imagine Daboll throwing a fit after a Sanders pick, who knows how the kid will respond.

Do we really want to risk that when we could use this draft to shore up other important positions on this bereft roster and build toward on a potential franchise QB in '26.
Andrew when you take the reins as Giants GM this sounds plausible. But in that fantasy land you don't have an angry owner giving you a win now, after two dreadful year, ultimatum. The Giants are the Bears of 2024. Keep the questionable coach, get a QB, realize the coach is not any good and then fire him by the end of the season. So predictable. But in obvious land the GM goes too.

I'm sure it's in their best interest to consider those things you mentioned. But there's the flip side of those same concerns: what if he works out? What if NFL coaching elevates him to great/elite status? What if he is right at home.and comfortable in NY?

Those are all possibilities as well. Now, I'm not making the decision but as long as Schoen and Daboll feel he's their guy, then I support them 100% and loom forward to seeing the kid on the field. And if he isn't their guy, I will support them just the same.
 :Giants:  ALL HAIL THE NEW YORK GIANTS!!!  :Giants:

"We're going to build this thing the right way... I'm not going to do a Hail Mary for self preservation. We've got a plan in place and we're going to stick with that"

-Giants GM Joe Schoen on potential roster plans and spending for the 2025 season.

Yeah, I fell for that with Jones. Year over year he only played worse.
From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

Kat, if Mara continues this behavior the franchise is doomed any way. At some point though, a man has to do what he believes is right or he loses all credibility (if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything). This has got to be more than just saving their tails for these guys. It's got to be about doing the right thing (assuming they know what the right thing is).

In a better world, maybe. Not this one. Just take a look around us what is going on in this country. Its all about saving tails.

Saw the perfect comp for Dart today that Daniel Jermiah and others were discussing. He's Dak Prescott with significantly better mobility, or Jalen Hurts, with a better arm/accuracy.

My question now is would you be ecstatic taking Dart at 3 if you knew you were getting Dak with better mobility or Hurts with a better arm?

The franchise, guys, is doomed. Cronyism...family..inaction..lack of expertise
barren leadership for over a decade has this rudderless ship endured and will continue until the Maras leave..pack it up and go. They won't , so it's academic. To compete against the Eagles is so far from comprehension.  Look what the Eagles did in the off season...rehab project in Becton. Baum moved outside as a FA..drafted two rookie CBs (DeJean who I watched at Iowa) and grabbed Barkley from the Giants. Amazing off season. There's no way in hell Schoen could ever do that, especially in his lame duck year. Great, draft another player out of need at QB and get nowhere.

I'm just being honest
Big Blue is a total mess that is years from success.

To misuse a Dandyism: If ifs and buts were candy and Jeremiah's comp isn't nuts then, Yeah Maybe! But I suppose we must then assume that Dakian/Hurtsian is not really a Jeremiad in disguise.  ;)

Cheers!

In Mel Kiper's mock draft , he has the Jets taking Dart with the 7th pick.

Per rookiewatch on twitter:
Jaxson Dart throws one of the PRETTIEST balls you'll ever see.

There is reportedly a "consensus" among scouts and GM's that Dart won't make it out of the first round.

Dart is one of the three QB names that "repeatedly" comes up as a potential Top-10 pick in this year's draft.

The Browns and Giants are reportedly "the most interested" of any team's in Dart at this point.

Dart entered the Senior Bowl and IMMEDIATELY led his team down the field for a TD and 2-point conversion.

The Rebels QB is making a RAPID ascent up draft boards 🚀

Dart will either be a desperation pick by a team desperate for a QB or by a team who can afford him to sit a year or two. The Giants will draft Milroe before Dart.

Any reasoning for drafting milroe over Dart? Milroe has dropped out of the top 200 of most mocks after his collapse to end the season and hand size while Dart has soared up?

You know the answer to the question.

The real question is, what will we be talking about next offseason on how "dumb & dumber" screwed the pooch in this years draft???

Like they used to say on ESPN back in the day....

You can't stop em....you can only hope to contain their idiocy.

It seems like you know more than Schoen does imo.

Sad that a hobbyist fan knows more than the GM does!!

It's the silly season. When you see names rise quickly, you know agents are involved and hype is used for smokescreens by GMs. Look for the consistency in the rankings. Nothing will shatter that at this point unless one of the consensus top picks get injured at the combine or elsewhere. A good, smart GM will take in the big picture, the total portfolio not some recent burst of good footwork or accuracy.
