Quote from: PSUBeirut on July 09, 2024, 04:36:00 PMThis is actually the part I find stupidest in his actions- kids his age 100% understand that if someone is aiming a camera at you it's very likely that's gonna be spread around - *especially* if you're any kind of high-profile person.  So the fact he noticed the camera, danced for the camera, showed the stacks of cash to the camera....means he 100% wanted this to become public.  He could have very easily told these others not to record if he had cared to keep it under wraps.

So, the bigger issue in my mind is he was intentionally seeking to put this kind of crap out about himself- without a consideration of how it would impact his teammates, coaches, organization that invested in him just weeks ago, etc.  Just plain ole stupid.
Can't agree with you on the bolded part. People show out in front of cameras each and every day. That does not equate to wanting it to go public.

Quote from: uconnjack8 on July 09, 2024, 04:51:38 PMIf he goes to nicer strip clubs in NYC he will be surrounded by hedge fund managers.  Does that make some of you feel better?

Plenty of drugs will still be around though.

Can't believe the club allowed someone to have their phone put and record it.

What worries more than the 'women with no morals', some of whom are trying to pay for college and/or support their families, is being around a bunch of hedge fund managers while waving all that cash around.

They get him drunk, persuade him to invest everything in crypto-currency, and give him a one-way ticket to the poorhouse.

Well, it doesn't worry me, I just think it's a cool scenario.

I AM worried that he got caught with that gun in the French Quarter during Mardi Gras.  There could be a pattern here...

I am going to be sorry to see Brandon Brown leave (I have little doubt he will be a full GM one day).  The man is smart, well-educated, and gets it.   His comment about Nabers having an edge was great: "Name me one outstanding player at that position, or edge or CB, who was a choir boy."   In some positions, you just are going to get guys who like to go to strip clubs.

Rich: Your first sentence sounds like Brandon is already out the door.  I'm hoping he'll stay long enough to take over for Schoen when he decides to retire after Jones wins him his third Super Bowl in a row. Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

At this point, I think the only thing holding Brown back is the Giants' lack of success.   Teams generally hire their GM from successful programs.   If the Giants have a winning season this year, I think Brown is gone.  If they have a losing season, I think you will get your wish, at least until the Giants turn things around or the current leaders are shown the door.

I think the man deserves his privacy   Its his business.  Nothing to see here

Its not like he went dancing with a loaded gun in his waist band and shot himself in the foot

But your point is well taken especially at the WR position.

Solomon Wilcots jokes about the mentality of WRs on his radio show.  Aside from the joking he says WRs are just a different type of person.  Heard some of it when discussing Juston Jefferson trying to get WRs together the way some other positions do in the offseason.  His joke was "how are you going to get all these "me me me WRs" together.

Now he was a DB so there is that part of it.  But I think each position sort of has a mentality that is a theme.  Some of them are similar.   Good OL tend to be a sort of way that is different from from say how DBs act.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on July 09, 2024, 10:52:49 AMEvery year as an ole miss fan I'm either in baton Rouge or New Orleans for an SEC game, if he survived LSU he'll be alright. I barely survived ole miss and I think I turned out alright lol. Now a days most kids do virtual learning even while living on campus so it's a nonstop party. I remember going to LSU v Ole Miss games on Halloween in death valley and having to buy LSU gear to make it to the parking lot. Different times though.

Oh my God, you aren't kidding!!! I'm glad I was either in the Army, or married when I lived in the deep south, when I made my way through Louisiana and Mississippi in the 90s.

Today? No way!!!

Peace!

That struck me as well, particularly in light of the strip club discussion about Nabers.  It might be a generational thing.  Full disclosure - never been to a strip club.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

It must have been clever, as even I didn't see what I did there.

Peace!

Agree, although it will be bittersweet for me because I'll simultaneously be happy for him to get a GM job, because he deserves it and is qualified, plus we'll at least get some draft capital compensation for it.

I just hope this will not be another Lombardi, Landry, Sean Payton, or Bill Belichick-type situation where we regret letting a promising assistant walk.

One thing about HK is that it shows Dabs not being shy in front of a camera as opposed to Bill B who openly avoids the camera.  Part of me wants more of a Bill B type.
