I believe there is a good chance the Giants get their franchise QB this year in the draft, especially if they get the #1 pick.

I hope so! As we've seen with other organizations, a lot can change in a very short time with some smart moves and a couple of breaks.

Get a young, talented QB who can get Nabers, Johnson, Hyatt, and Tracy involved and this offense will look much different.

Colorado's offensive line isn't the best either but Shedeur is making the most of it. He can do that here as well.

If the OTs can stay healthy and upgrades at IOL, it will be fun to watch those guys all grow up together! Here's hoping, anyway.

Quote from: katkavage on November 28, 2024, 09:26:49 PMThe mistake isn't Nabers. The mistake was taking a receiver before you had a QB. They should have drafted JJ or Penix or Nix. With Nabers they are 2-10 and need a QB next year. He does nothing for them until the QB is in place.

Well the reality is they still believed Jones could have been that QB now with a legit WR

Good thing for us .... We may now be getting a QB this draft and we already have his #1 wr

Bears got Caleb and Odunze ....i kind of look at like that's what we are doing just spread over 2 years

Nabers may come with Drama .... But he's still a rookie hopefully the drops get corrected

But I'm done taking too much stock into one's attitude

If anything Nabers being mad and continue to want the ball even after drops may be a sign that he wants to win games

Not sure if I'll ever be a Nabers fan no matter how "talented" he is. Doesn't seem like a good teammate to me.
Ain't nothing to it but to do it!

Tim: I can't blame them, but a lot of Giants' fans give up way too early on certain players... and the team itself suffers from the same deficiency (not talking about Jones... it was time for him to go).  But check out my "tag line" at the bottom of this post... I still haven't changed it, because nowhere does it s say "for the Giants." It wouldn't surprise me to see Minny's QB get hurt in the playoffs and Jones step in to win the game. In the NFL, you just never know. Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Rich: The word "rookie" appears nowhere in that phrase. Give him a break, keeping in mind that he has as much of a supporting cast as Daniel Jones had. If the Giants traded Nabers to KC, he would be a shoe-in for the HOF. Recall the games before his concussion... you may disagree but IMO he showed he's willing to fight and die to win games. The concussion took some of the starch out of his shirt, and the team gains nothing by pissing on him right now... while the sinking ship is searching for the bottom of the ocean. Gotta get him as much experience as possible right now, because there WILL be a "next year" and that's when he is likely to have a QB with more talent and confidence who will know if they "get him the ball, he will give his all" for the team. When he's targeted as much as he is - it's natural he's going to drop the ball. Keep in mind he's put up numbers with a now practice squad player, a back up qb and a second year UDFA throwing him the ball. I'll start judge him when a quality starter is tossing him the rock.

Furthermore, I like this mindset - onto the next play and just get me the ball. I know it's not for everyone but I like it.

He's basically saying "keep giving me the ball" and there's a bunch of shocked Pikachu faces in here...

And I think it would be a mistake to take a QB before you have an offensive line. The only stud on the Giants O-Line is Thomas, and he misses games to injury every season. Whoever the next Giants QB is, he's going to need a lot better protection than the Giants can currently provide.

Quote from: Gmo11 on November 28, 2024, 09:22:41 PMIf they made more "mistakes" like Nabers they wouldn't be in this mess right now. Lamb dropped 3 passes. He a mistake too?

Lamb is not excusing his drops.  Nabers is.  A vet on the team should sit him down and give him the riot act for that statement.

I absolutely think Nabers is an elite receiver but I also think this was inevitable. He's a bit of a diva, as all great receivers are. If you have an above average quarterback you have outstanding production of very little drama, but when you pair him with a can of corn you're going to see this sort of bull. He's like a really frustrated puppy.
