Yes you can

Quote from: Philosophers on January 01, 2025, 04:56:05 PMEwers is another QB from an affluent suburb in Southlake Carroll, Texas.  Josh Rosen 2.0.

Young and hungry is what I want.
Not sure you get young and hungry anymore.  Most of these kids are making more money now than they will during their rookie year.

Derrick Harmon has had a very good game despite their D getting steamrolled.

Had my eye on him as a potential pick in the 2nd, but he might be locking up a pick on Day 1 with this performance.

Someone else I really like and played well today is Texas CB Jahdae Barron.

He's very much a Dru Phillips clone. Tough as nails, always around the ball, and not at all afraid of contact.

If we miss out on Johnson in the 1st, I'd be looking at Barron in the 2nd.

I like the 300lb space eater for Texas, think his last name is Collins. He's been holding that line down all season.

Yeah, Alfred Collins. He's definitely worth a look in the 3rd. I prefer Tyliek Williams as a run stuffer, but he might go late first and definitely won't last through the 2nd.

Walter Nolen in the 2nd wouldn't bother me either.

Ohio State's DL is all sizzle and no meat.  Each is so hyped up but frankly done little.  Sawyer is one who has produced in the bigger games.  I'd stay away from them unless itms like a 4th round gamble.  All are athletic.  These guys are not the DL of OSU's yeateryear with the Bosas.  They seem fat and happy and not hungry at all.

Arch Manning too

So only poor kids will excel at QB in the NFL? Can you explain this ridiculous statement? Eli and Payton grew up affluent.

Apparently.  Guess the days of guys like Steve Young being successful are all gone because of Josh Rosen

All you and TD have done are found the outliers.

Hunger and drive come from what you don't have, not what you do have.

And all you have done is found something irrelevant to a prospective QBs future success and label it as a detriment.

Well read this as the data is pretty compelling.

I dont have time to read the whole thing, will do so thank you for posting.  Things have changed though since 2020 with the NIL deals.  They are starting get paid big money to play in college.  Most of these kids are not going to come to their first NFL camp with the pressue that if they don't make a team, they are screwed financially.

Quote from: Ed Vette on January 01, 2025, 01:16:57 PMIs Skattebo a second round projection?

I've liked this guy, Ed, and he's the heart of their offense.

Is it me, or is he just a half-step slow for the pro game?

I love his vision, the way he hits the holes and, obviously, his toughness in fighting for that extra yard. His goal line running yesterday speaks for itself.

A second? Maybe a third, but an outstanding combine might lift him up into the second round.

Nice player!

Peace!
