In anticipation of the new season of 1923, and since I can't remember what I had for breakfast today, I decided to rewatch the previous season. Eight episodes, I should have it done in a week or so. I believe the new season starts Feb 20 something.

One thing though. As I said, I bought a new 4K TV, and watching this show on this TV, well, it is almost like watching it live. It just adds so much to the picture and I only have a small screen. On a huge screen, it must be totally awesome.

I know most of you don't watch this, but we have finished season 4 of 'Secrets of the Skinwalker Ranch' and, it is, without a doubt, interesting, to say the least. This is not some fiction where looneys go around finding the weirdest things and run with it. Most of the stuff that is happening and has happened on Skinwalker Ranch is true and documented, and believe me, some really weird stuff happens. At the end of season 4, they are almost convinced, myself included, there is some sort of portal to another universe somewhere over this ranch. If you aren't convinced after watching this show, then you never will be. This is not sci-fi fiction stuff, but documented evidence of extremely weird things that happen all the time. One season to go.

We have also started watching 'School Spirits' a show on Paramount+.  https://www.paramountplus.com/shows/school-spirits/
It is in the middle of dropping the second season and we watched the 1st 3 episodes of season 1. My wife thinks it is more for a teenage audience, but since there is minor nudity, I didn't think so. Anyway, it is about a girl who was murdered in her High School, and she is back as a spirit, not remembering anything about her death, and she is trying to find out who killed her and why (as a spirit). sounds a bit weird, but so far it is interesting.

"School Spirits" sounds interesting to me. I like teen movies (unless they're the goofy kids getting stoned, and it's supposed to be funny...it's not)

My favorites off the top of my head, "The Hot Chick", "13 Going on 30", "Freaky Friday", "Totally Killer", "Weird Science", etc. The Hot Chick is hilarious and Totally Killer is also great
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

Valentine's Day and scrolling thru the channels, what better movie to see than Casablanca, maybe the all-time romantic movie, with so many extras. I can't tell you how many times I have seen, all, parts or just a clip of this movie, but you know what, it never gets old. Once I start watching, makes no difference when, I am hooked all over again. There are scenes I can recite the dialogue by heart, but what better watch for Valentine's Day?

I dove into "The Gorge" (Apple+) with huge anticipations of a great thriller, that was released yesterday. Wasn't what I expected, and it was closer to a horror/sci-fi type of flick. I was not ready for "creatures from hell" to be a part of it (the trailer left that out). Movie was okay and not a complete waste of time. I'm just not a fan of horror, so there's that  :-??

I don't know if anyone has ever watched 'The White Lotus' a series that has been on for 2 seasons and the new one starts Sunday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGLq7_MonZ4&ab_channel=HBO
It is sort of a part comedy/part drama and part just fun. Each season is independent of the others. It is about a major resort (White Lotus Chain) in different parts of the world (first season was in Hawaii, second season was in Italy and this new season is in Thailand), and some of the guests that arrive for a week of fun or whatever. It usually follows about 10 guests and the people who work at the resort.
My wife loves this series and I kind of like it also. They have had some terrific guest stars (as guests) and again, each season is its own series. Except for one guest who appeared in season 1 and again in season 2 as a guest at the specified resorts.
the show is very light and a lot of fun to watch.

We watched "Mo" on Netflix about a Palestinian and his family living in Houston. It's a 2-season series that we found to be pretty entertaining.

After that, we are currently watching "Shrinking" on Apple TV. Very good series with Harrison Ford and Jason Segel.

Two decent free movies on Tubi. Not great but adequate entertainment.

Bliss: Owen Wilson encounters a homeless woman (Selma Hayek) who tells him he is living in a simulation. The story has some holes in it but Owen and Selma make it watchable. At the end of the movie the audience is left to decide which version of reality is the real version.

Shattered: Pierce Brosnan plays a bad guy that kidnaps a small child. He forces the parents(Gerard Butler plays the father) to go to the bank and withdraw their life savings. As the three drive away from the bank, Pierce Brosnan throws the money out the window. So it wasn't about the money. You are left to guess what Brosnan's motive is. The ending took me by surprise.

I don't know if anyone has been a fan of the Bridget Jones movies. We are, and usually find them quite entertaining, amusing, and a lot of fluff. Rene Zellweger as Bridget is always great and she has sort of perfected the art of a nice British girl who isn't all that attractive, a bit plump but just wants to enjoy life, get married, have kids, and again, enjoy. Thru the first 3 movies, she has done that, and now the 4th in this series
"Bridget Jones's Mad About The Boy" just premiered on Peacock, and, of course, we had to be the first in line to watch it.
We did sit down last night and watched. Again, Ms. Zellweiger is always entertaining. A bit older here but her charm that made the other 3 movies go well is still here. Small plot, a few decent laughs, sort of predictable ending. but we enjoyed it. Lot's of cursing if you have young kids who might want to watch, but overall, we still Love Bridget Jones.

As you say, the trailer didn't exactly paint it how it was.

I fell asleep about half way through. Woke up at the credits and my Mrs said I didn't miss much.

Yesterday was a miserable day here in NY so what better way to pass the day by finishing the final 4 chapters of season 1 of 1923? As I said, I did watch this when it first came out and basically forgot most of it, but since the next season is starting next Sunday, I needed to rewatch it. So now I am ready. You know the Duttons aren't losing their ranch, but hope is pretty dismal as of now. Spencer is on the way but he has a long road getting home and will his bride ever get there? So many plot twists in the last episode of Season 1 and I'm sure some will last well into Season 2.

Now that I am caught up, I don't know if I can wait till, say, half the season has dropped until I start watching. I am hooked.

The preview of season 2.

Season 2 drops Feb. 23, but then one episode a week, so I won't start it until most of the episodes are dropped. And I do plan on rewatching season 1 to refresh my memory, and I'm kind of interested to watch Michelle Randolph play Elizabeth Randolph (soon to be the next Dutton) to compare her role with the one she played as the randy daughter in Landman. Seems like entirely different kind of roles - one, a young woman walking around in her underwear and exposing as much flesh as possible, talking about sex, and looking for men - the other role, the future tough Dutton wife

Great cast. I read that Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren both accepted the role without even reading the script...they were that sure it was going to be a great role for them in a Taylor Sheridan story. Ford said that no actor (stars that is) accepts a role without turning it down first...standard procedure for big names in movies. Yet he didn't hesitate a second at accepting the initial offer - dittos with Mirren

Good news...this is the first I've heard that there will be a season 2 of Landman, and maybe more. Could drop later this year

We started watching The Severant last night on Apple TV.

It's okay, a supernatural type show but after 6 episodes, it's holding our interest.

The episodes are 30 mins each - which for me, I really like. As there's fewer opportunities for the show to drag out.

It was mentioned on here that "School Spirits" (Paramount+ or the first season on Netflix) was better than expected. Then my daughter told me she thought it was excellent, so I gave it a try. Turned out to be one of the most interesting shows I've watched in a while. I started watching it Monday and got caught hook, line, and sinker...finished season one last night (8 episodes). Once you start it, it's very difficult to stop.
In short: an Agatha Christie style "whodunit" murder mystery in a Twilight Zone type of setting.
The caveat: a missing girl goes on a crime-solving journey in an attempt to solve her own murder...from the afterlife...or was she even dead :-??

Seven episodes of the second season dropped last month, with a new episode each week (7 episodes with one left). Second season can only be seen on Paramount+
